Chocolate Fondue with a Twist

Sometimes the simplest things in life are the tastiest. This is honestly just melted chocolate and fruit but with the natural richness from quality ingredients making all the difference. We used Galerie au Chocolat which is an Amaranth favourite and, well, we did something a little crazy. We used their Green Tea White Chocolate bar and it was really, really hard to politely take turns. So yummy!

Galerie au Chocolat is certified organic and fair-trade and the quality allows for very minimal ingredients. In addition to the Green Tea White Chocolate bar, they also make chocolate with Earl Grey Tea, Honey and Sea Salt to name but a few. Anyone staying away from dairy also need not despair. Their dark chocolate bar is one of the best on the market and there is no need to add anything to it to turn it from bar to fondue!

Of course there are lots of tasty bars at your local Amaranth. We encourage you to experiment with different amounts of cocoa, adding sea salt or spices like cinnamon or chili and even dipping a cookie or slice of banana bread.

Chocolate Fondue

Chocolate and Fruit (seriously, that’s it)

If you want to make a selection of chocolates rather than just one type, put a large pot on the stove with about an inch of water in it. Use one jar for each type of chocolate. Break the chocolate up into each jar and put the jars in the water. Put a lid on the pot and bring it to a boil, turning the temperature to medium once it has boiled. Each jar will fill with melted chocolate. Once you are ready to use the chocolate, just give each jar a stir and carefully remove it from the pot.

Of course, if you don’t want the frenzy of a fondue on the table, you can take your strawberries or raspberries and dip them into the different chocolates and place them on a parchment lined baking sheet in the fridge. Take them out about 10 minutes before enjoying. In fact, you can actually pour the chocolate into the centre of the raspberries. They are a perfect little cup!

Enjoy!
